'); } Leavers lace is the oldest production technology that reproduces the interlacing work of yarn made by the lacemaker. This technology, which started out in the early 1800s, underwent several mechanical improvements like the implantation of the Jacquard mechanic. This kind of machine is not constructed any longer, the usury pieces are the only ones replaced or repaired by specific mechanists.
The couple «chariot+bobbin» characterizes this machine that contains a very thin binding yarn. The lace produced by this kind of machine is called « dentelle de Calais » (i.e. Calais' lace). The length, the width and the thinness of the lace produced may vary depending on the machine used.
In 2005, Brunet opens a production unit meant to produce its own collection in 2005 with ten completely revised machines.
Leavers lace, due to the important Know-How of its mechanists, allows us to explore the limits of creation.
